General Updates

Today, the re-implementation of my APIs in Rust and the “rewrite” of my blog in hugo were both deployed.

Also, I decided to discontinue https://gitlab.com/lippertsjan/MensaUPB because I don’t have the time to maintain it anymore and there are better maintained alternatives.

Migration to Hugo

Nearly ten years ago, I migrated this blog from Wordpress to Jekyll. Today I started the migration to hugo because I was unable to get working build for my page locally. since hugo is a single binary I can download and execute, getting a working local build is less of a problem.

App API Rewrite in Rust 1

Motivation

My two Android apps Metal Only and MensaUPB require some kind of online service to get their data from and - since I cannot force users to update apps easily - I wrote my own API as a wrapper to the upstream APIs provided by https://www.metal-only.de/ and https://studierendenwerk-pb.de/. That way, whenever one of these pages changes their API, I can just adapt the wrapper and keep my own API backwards-compatible so the apps themselves don’t require any updates.

Trouble mit dem Play Store

Eines meiner Projekte - die App für den Metal Only e. V. - wurde vor kurzem aus dem Play Store entfernt. In diesem Post möchte ich kurz beschreiben, welche Schritte notwendig waren, die App wieder in den Store zu bekommen.

Trip Home

Um den Abschluss des Auslandssemesters gebührend zu feiern, ging es für mich nicht direkt nach Hause. Mit einem mehr oder weniger kleinen Umweg ging es für mich nach Stockholm, København und München.

Wieder ein lange aufgeschobener Eintrag. Am 25. März war ich mit ein paar Leuten in einem “Abandoned Place”: Kruunuvuoren nuotiopakkia. Leider hats auch einen traurigen Grund, warum ich das jetzt poste: irgendwer hat die Häuschen abgefackelt :(
